Nickson Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Hi,I have been asked by a friend to help with accommodation while she's visiting NYC for the first time in June.I have used this site quite a bit (thankyou..) and booked stays in NYC with Priceline twice before both with great deals. She is staying for a Week from June 3rd till the 10th.. and then returning on the 13th or 14th departing on the 21st. Its her first time in New York actually and is traveling with a friend, they are both in their 50's and money is not really a big issue.I was hoping for some advice as to approximate prices for 4* Hotels (if possible.. rough is fine) , ideally somewhere Uptown in the first week (excluding TS), and somewhere Downtown (Zone 5) for the 2nd week.I had thought hopefully under $220 ex taxes per night? But this may be a little hopeful given the extended length of stay...Your advice would be greatly appreciated, along with any other tips. Thankyou again.NickAustralia
AaronJB Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Good morning. :)Please provide follow-ups for your prior NYC thread and prior Miami thread (post the date/s of travel for the Miami thread), then reply to this thread and we will be happy to look availability for the above dates. Additionally, posting any prior wins would be greatly appreciated, as the information can help others. Also, it would be greatly appreciated if you could post a separate thread for the second stay (14th-21st); this thread will be for the 6/3-10 stay.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Nickson Posted May 5, 2011 Author Report Posted May 5, 2011 Hi,Have followed up both posts :)Anyway, have been doing a bit of bidding over the last few days without Success......Tried-6/3-6/10, $170 MTE, rejected6/3-6/10, $175 MTE, MTW, rejected6/3-6/10, $180 MTE, MTW, CPS, rejected *I realize I didnt use "free" rebid zones but wasn't too worried about that, I thought I may get something for $180 but I guess the length of stay, especially over the weekend is tough..Waited 24 hours then tried again today... same strategy, except went up to $183/night... to no avail.Am I likely to win something for $190? or could it just be the weekend rates are too high for this price range...?Suggestions/Help would be greatly appreciated at this point.CheersNick
