genguai Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 I've seen a few wins over Sheraton National (Arlington) and am interested in getting several nights there at the end of April. I have to drive around but found they would charge $20/night for parking. Their website does offer complimentary parking for AAA members when reservaing online, which I am.My question is: If I win bidding on PRICELINE, would I still be able to get complimentary parking for being an AAA member? Thanks.
AaronJB Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)There is no way to ensure a particular property when bidding on PRICELINE; you may get a different 3.5* or be upgraded to one of the 4*'s in the area. In terms of parking, unfortunately I think it's highly unlikely that the AAA discount on parking would be extended, since you did not book the hotel via a AAA rate and booked via a deep discount service. If you need assistance with your stay, please provide the date/s of travel, desired budget and acceptable PRICELINE zones.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 The "free parking" is only if you book using a specific package rate code, and (i'm assuming) is higher then their standard rate at the same time. I tried searching a few dates to compare the AAA rate vs. the standard rate but couldn't get the package rate to appear on a variety of dates i checked, so also important to note that this package is not always available. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. genguai Posted April 8, 2011 Author Report Posted April 8, 2011 I'm driving to DC in the evening of 4/21 and will stay until the morning of 4/26, basically 5 nights. I prefer a hotel around Arlington area, not far from railway transportation and with free parking. I saw a few wins around $50-60 for Sheraton National (3.5*) and that's about my budget.Thanks.
thereuare Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE, you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for. As well, HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone, so there is a chance the hotel you're hoping for isn't the one which is offered for your particular dates.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll try to assist further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.PS- pleas read your messages Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
