Priceline Hotel: NYC 4/30 - 5/4 *Help

I am looking for a hotel in NYC from April 30 - May 4. The max we are hoping to spend is $150 for 3.5* or better. We have been trying on Priceline for several days first for CPS, ESB, MSG, MTW, TS and then adding MTE and Chelsea Area when we are unsuccessful. We have tried all these areas up to $150 for 3.5* without any success. From everything I have read it doesn't seem like we are way out of wack with what we want and what we are willing to pay.

Any advice??

Rates for your dates are a bit higher then we've seen for the weeks prior, and seasonally, it's not unusual to see rates in NYC climb as we head deeper into the Spring season.

A few possibilities:

• is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option
  
• stay downtown for all/part of your stay
  
• lower your star rating
  
• bid a little higher for a 4* (might be able to get a 4* for ~$185)
  
• wait it out and hope for lower prices over the next month

We were considering that we would probably have to do one of those things. I think as far as the order we would be will to do them would be:

First we would drop to 3* in preferred area

Second try Soho (Do you think we would still be as high as $150 for this area or we could probably go down?)

Third Just wait it out

Splitting our bid would be a last resort and we really don't want to go up much from $150. Do you think we could have success at our price with a 3* in preferred or 3.5*-4* in Soho?

Can't say for certain if you'd be successful for a 3.5* Downtown hotel at $150, but it's close enough that it's would be worth a try.

Did you want to try for a 3.5* Downtown first OR would you prefer to try for a 3* midtown property?
