lucillemcg Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 I have tried for a 3* Priceline Reno for $40 and was rejected. Then I added 4* Reno South to the 3* Reno and increased to $45 and was rejected, but offers came up from their partner lowestfare.com for $76. Any idea on what to do next? I don't care which area I stay in, I just want a casino hotel for less than $50/night. Thanks.
thereuare Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 If you're firm on your $50 maximum i'm not sure what else you can do except bid again up to your limit.I did see Expedia has the Sands for an average of $81/nite... i might be able to devise something to get this cost down to $75/nite, but didn't delve too deep into it given your $50 maximum.Let us know if you make any progress or if you choose to raise your bid or lower your star rating. lucillemcg Posted May 8, 2005 Author Report Posted May 8, 2005 I ended up booking Saturday the 28th without using Priceline since we're taking a side trip to Winnemucca and decided to stay there that night. So,I waited 72 hours and tried for the 29th. I tried 4* Reno South for $45, then added Reno up to $50, then went to 3* for both areas at $55, then added Sparks up to $60 and got nothing. So I decided just to check the "shop and compare" prices and saw Atlantis Casino, a 4* in Reno South, for $49! I purchased the night, but now I'm really confused about Priceline. How could I have included that area and rating and been rejected at $60 under the "name your own price" and just buy the room from the website for $49??? I'm just very happy to get what looks like a great hotel for a low price :)
thereuare Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 I think the 'Shop and Compare' product is too new in order to know exactly how it relates to the opaque product... but a good lesson about checking all your resources.Enjoy your stay.
