Hi, I am looking for a 4* hotel in the downtown or french quarter area for 6 nights beginning December 24, 2011. I would like to win a bid between $50 - $80. I currently have a reservation at the New Orleans Marriott for $119/night with daily breakfast, but would like to save money with it being Christmas and all. Thanks for your help.

Hi, I just scored the Omni Royal Crescent Hotel for $58 a night! I followed your bidding suggestion, but I started with the French Quarter. None of my offers were accepted. Then I closed out and used the PRICELINE link to go back in and started my bidding for Downtown. Right away when I enter $50, I was countered if I added $15. I rejected offer, closed out and went back in with $55. When I offered $58, my bid was accepted. I just saved over $400 in hotel costs. I hope I get a great room away from the elevators.

I have to go cancel my $119/night reservation at the Marriott New Orleans.

Thanks betterbidding!

Hi Travelers,

Today I used the bidding strategy "Michigan" from betterbidding gave me on April 8th and I won the Omni Royal Crescent Hotel for $58/night!

First I started with 4* in the FQ at $50 and all my bids up to $65 were rejected. I closed out and went back in to bid in the Downtown area. As soon as I entered $50, I was countered if I added $15. I rejected that, closed out and come back through this website's link and when I got to $58, my bid was accepted.

This Omni got really good reviews on tripadvisor.com so I'm happy with the win. I'm a Omni Rewards member so I will call the hotel to put my number on the reservation even though I won't get points. I've been told that putting your member number on a reservation obtained through a third party could improve the room selection you're given. It's worth a try.

Thanks betterbidding, I scored big with your help! :)
