thereuare Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 The Sheraton has previously been seen with this amenity combination in the past, but at the 3* level... it may have been upgraded since last reported to the board, and that would be my best guess for this one. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too! mathchris Posted April 27, 2011 Author Report Posted April 27, 2011 THank you so much. One last question, if I book 1 room 3 adults on hotwire, does it give me a room with 2 double beds?
AaronJB Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 If you search for 3 people, you will get bedding for the entire party, which is commonly 2 beds, but may be 1 + sofabed.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

mathchris Posted May 12, 2011 Author Report Posted May 12, 2011 Hello, I recently booked through HOTWIRE a room for 3 adults. When I called the hotel to confirm, they said there is no guarantee of bed type, and I may be placed in a room with just 1 king bed. I explained to them that I used HOTWIRE and selected 3 adults and she said she was sorry but they don't every guarantee room types. I thought the whole reason people use hotwire is to avoid that problem? I understand if I use PRICELINE this may be an issue, but that is why I chose HOTWIRE. Any ideas?

mathchris Posted May 12, 2011 Author Report Posted May 12, 2011 yes, I called the hotel to confirm, and she said no guarantee (some new computer system that won't allow them to do requests?)I have also emailed them, and waiting for a response. I phoned hotwire and they said that they have to give me a room that sleeps 3, and one bed is not adequate, so on check in if I have a problem I am to call. However, if they have no rooms, then what can hotwire do?
thereuare Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 Call HOTWIRE again and ask them to call the hotel on your behalf to straighten it out.Inform them that you may be checking-in late at nite and are concerned that a room to accommodate triple occupancy won't be available and should that happen, you don't want to be in the lobby of the Sheraton shortly after your arrival scrambling to find alternate last minute accommodations which can accommodate what you actually booked for, which is triple occupancy.Good luck. mathchris Posted May 12, 2011 Author Report Posted May 12, 2011 Thank you so much for your help!If the hotel was unable to accomodate us, would it be my responsibility or HOTWIRE's to find accommodation that would?
thereuare Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 If the hotel was unable to accomodate us, would it be my responsibility or HOTWIRE's to find accommodation that would? It's not going to get that far :)However, regardless of how you book, 'walking a guest' (industry term for what happens when a hotel overbooks and doesn't have a room to accommodate the reservation... just like when airlines have too many customers for a plane) does happen from time to time.Usually the hotel will find equivalent accommodations at a nearby property, provide cab fare, and the nite you needed to be 'walked' is refunded. These aren't hard and fast rules, but this is what the general policy is. However, in the situation above it's slightly different since the hotel may take the stance that they only needed to have a room for two, when you (and HOTWIRE as per your conversation) state the room should accommodate three. However, make the phone call stating what i posted above and chances are good it will all be settled... even if any issues still remain, is there a a major event taking place over this timeframe, as that is usually the time when 'walking' becomes an issue.
