H.Finn
Could someone share their thoughts on booking a honeymoon stay in Vancouver using Priceline? How bad can a Priceline room be at a 4 star hotel? Would Hotwire be a better option? Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding and Happy Honeymoon. Some 4* properties in major cities get negative (or "mediocre") reviews. If the reviews do not present serious concerns, then it's a matter of price point - how one would feel paying full price versus a discounted rate and the differing expectations that come with that. HOTWIRE is more expensive, but the additional information allows for one to make an educated guess as to which properties may be showing. In either instance, you are taking a risk, moreso with PRICELINE. If you bid for a 4* in a particular area, you have to be willing to accept and be okay with any 4* in that area. There's no way to ensure or increase the odds of a particular property. If you would like assistance with your stay, please provide additional information regarding the stay - desired star rating, budget, area.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. H.Finn
Hi AaronJB--I was hoping to stay in the downtown area of Vancouver. As close to Stanley Park and the water as possible. I think Priceline splits the downtown area into two sections. 4* is the lowest I want to target. --thank you Link to comment

H.Finn
The $95 to $105 range, plus tax, that I think I've seen recently is what I was hoping for with a 4*. Link to comment
thereuare
As close to Stanley Park and the water as possible... I think Priceline splits the downtown area into two sections. The "Downtown" zone is closest to Stanley Park, is this the only zone you want to bid, or is the Granville Entertainment District acceptable as well?If you enter "Vancouver, Canada" in the search box on the top right of the board you can see the PRICELINE map and the zone boundaries of each.Let us know which zone(s) you're willing to accept and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and please click this PRICELINE link before replying.Thanks. H.Finn
Downtown Vancouver and Granville Entertainment District look like great zone boundaries to stay in. I would be happy with either.Thank you for the support. Link to comment
