thereuare Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! Is there a specific amenity that you are looking for? HOTWIRE has what is believed to be the Grand Hyatt for your dates (2 adults/2 children) for $203/nite. You didn't provide the star rating of the second hotel you listed, but the Grand Hyatt is a very good hotel with an excellent location (for subway and bus access) that i'm fairly certain would be better than any 2.5* hotwire hotel.Let us know if this works for your plans? If you book it please use this HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase.Edited to add:I also just found what is believed to be the Beekman Tower wehre you can get a 1BR suite for $188/nite. It will only appear if you search for 2 people, but there is one bed in the bedroom and a pull-out couch in the living room (which i'm assuming would be ok for your kids, depending upon their ages). The suite is more like a NYC apartment and includes a full kitchen... and the reviews are fantasitc.Let us know your thoughts on the above two options. sarahbob Posted May 4, 2005 Author Report Posted May 4, 2005 The second location was 3*. My kids are 8 and 10 so the sleeper sofa will do fine and after reading about the Beekman I think that is what we are going with. Will the check-in staff raise a fuss over the extra 2 people/kids in the room?
thereuare Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 I haven't heard of anyone having a problem at that property (if you want to be 'safe' just have one person go up to the counter to check in)... they're owned by the Affinia Group which is really making a good name for themselves in the NYC hotel scene (in my opinion) and from what i have heard their customer service is very good, so i think that decreases the chance of any hassle you'll get at check-in. They buy apartment buildings and turn them into hotels... so the rooms have more space than the traditional NYC hotel room and also have a full kitchen. Thru EasyClickTravel they are priced right to make them great deals. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
