larryj357 Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 I was trying to get 3* downtown. Looked on the list here and tried to add a free bid by adding Dearborn. I was awarded the The Dearborn Inn for $59. The cheapest I saw on there website was $119. I didn't know that there was a 3* in Dearborn. I probably could have gotten the Hyatt for the same price. Not to upset though. This is my first time trying to use these bidding tactics. I hope to learn more with practice. Thanks to this great site. Please add this to the master list for future users. Can you also edit this post to have the price as the message detail instead of A Marriot Hotel.
thereuare Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! Thanks for posting and adding this new hotel to our lists.Sorry you ended up in a zone you weren't expecting. From the top of every hotel list it reads:This list is NOT a complete list of all hotels that Priceline offers in this area, it is ONLY a compilation of hotels that have already been reported on this forum. Hotels are added/removed by Priceline all the time, and star ratings can change at ANY time. As well, the geographic boundaries of an area are subject to change, so it is always a good idea to look at the Priceline map before purchasing. DO NOT USE THIS LIST to determine what areas to add when attempting to bid again within the 24 hour window (CLICK HERE for information on how to add cities in order to bid again). If you click the link in the quote above you will find the proper way to identify your re-bid zones (but the rest of the link is a good read as well):The way to check what star levels are available in each zone is to open a Priceline page, check ONLY the zone you are inquiring about, and then proceed to the next page (as if you were going to select a zone)... this will give you the available star ratings in that area. You can then hit BACK on your browser, uncheck the current box, check the next box, and repeat the process. It is important to do this before EACH attempt at adding a zone that you really don't want, as new hotels can be added and the star ratings can change at any time.If you have any questions regarding re-bidding or any of the other information above feel free to ask.I'll go ahead and it this to the lists... can you also add the dates so i can include that information in the sub-title as well. Thanks, and enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
larryj357 Posted May 4, 2005 Author Report Posted May 4, 2005 I understand that it wasn't an exact list. I am very happy for finding this site. I am sure that with more people adding there info will make the list more accurate. The dates I got this bid for was 05/27 - 05/29. I think the reason I paid a little more is because of the holiday weekend.
