What a great site guys. I found this forum while trying to figure out how to get the best for my money using priceline. Looking to get 2 3.5* - 4* rooms in Times Square for $120-$130 a night each. I seen there is a pricebuster deal for a 3.5* in MTW for $127. I am open to MTW but would like nothing less than a 3.5* Is that deal good enough for me to accept or does anyone suggest a bidding strategy to help me save a few dollars. Money is super tight but we do not want to skimp on the quality of our stay. We need to have this booked very soon as we are leaving in 5 days!!! :)

Thanks in advance!!!

Hey all! New to the forum and love it! Anyhow, Hotwire is listing a 4* that says the following

Times Square - Theatre District area Hotel

$117 /nt

suite, fitness center, restaurant, business center, high speed internet acsess

Recommended 95% hotwire custome reviews.

This sounds like an awesome deal, almost too good to be true. Anyone have an idea what hotel it could be? And does anyone think I could beat that price on Priceline???

Looking for 2 rooms check in 04/02 and check out 04/04. I have 4 days left to get these rooms!!! :)

Thanks!

Nuts!!! I just noticed that this deal is for NEXT week!!! I was ready to book. Are deals like this doable on hotwire or

priceline???

You can book on both HOTWIRE and PRICELINE untill the day of arrival.

Do you want to try PRICELINE first or should we try to ID the hotel for you?

Not seeing this listing when searching for 2 rooms/4 adults for these dates; are you still seeing it and if so, how many people are you searching for?

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

The deals highlighted in this section are often not widely available... if you click the details button you'll see the dates that this offer is available (many will show sold-out) and many in NYC will appear only for Sunday nite (the slowest hotel nite of the week). These offers should also appear when doing a 'regular' HOTWIRE search... this 'deal' section is just highlighting them.

Hello all. This seems like a good price and wanted to know if anyone wanted to a shot at trying to identify this:

Priceline PriceBreakers

Visiting New York City to see the sights? Midtown West is perfect for you; it is conveniently close to the city's most popular attractions: Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center, the New York Public Library and St. Patrick's Cathedral.

How to Snag this Deal:

* Travel between April 2 - April 10, 2011

* Check the Midtown West Zone

* Select a 3.5 star rating

* Bid $127

* You save 45% off the retail price

I was really wanting to stay in TS but this seems like a nice deal. The wife tells me our max price is $150/nt. :) but I am hoping to go cheaper than that. We are staying from 04/02/11 - 04/04/11 (yes, 3 days away!!!) :) and are thinking we want at least a 3.5* in MTW or better yet, dropping to a 3* for TS. Can anyone suggest a good bidding strategy?

Other than letting you know that the hotel is 3.5* rated and in the MTW zone, there is nothing to identify the property, the other information is generic to the MTW zone and not the specific hotel being offered... this could be any 3.5* hotel in the zone.

Have you tried bidding the TS zone yet? If so, at what star rating and how high did you bid at each star level?
