jpc Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 Started at 4* $78 in Loop, increased by $2 increments adding NMA, then zones with no hotels in that area, up to $89, then bid $90 adding 3.5* and it was accepted. I wasn't sure it was the best strategy, bc once I dropped the stars I would have rather started a bit lower in price, but a few days ago I had had $81 3.5* rejected so I figured I was close enough. I checked the hotel website for those dates and their cheapest rooms are $189/night. I'm happy!thanks everybody for the tips. and I clicked through via a PRICELINE link here first...
thereuare Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 Congratulations on your success! It's usually recommended that you lower your bid price when you lower your star rating, especially when you have re-bid zones and/or time before your stay to try again should you be rejected. See this thread for more info: If You Lower Your Star Level then Lower Your Price. All in all still a nice win and glad to see that you're pleased with the outcome. Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
