tobar Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Hi,Looking for a good 4* hotel midtown for the above period. What would be a safe bet on priceline? Thanks.
AaronJB Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)What would be your desired max budget per night, and which PRICELINE zones would be acceptable?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
tobar Posted March 31, 2011 Author Report Posted March 31, 2011 The best area for me would be midtown east (area 10 in Priceline). I am ready to pay around 200 USD and perhaps a bit more to make sure I get a really good hotel. Thanks!!! :)
thereuare Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 Rates are high for these dates and $200 may not be enough for a 4* hotel. We can certainly try, but is MTE the only zone you're willing to accept, as including more zones gives more hotels the opportunity to accept your bid price, which could result in a better deal.At the 4* level typically the MTE, MTW, TS, CPS and ESB zones all work well for the average user, but not knowing your specific plans while in town, you'll have to see if all of these would work for you needs.Let us know regarding the zones and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. tobar Posted March 31, 2011 Author Report Posted March 31, 2011 Thanks for the valuable input !!! :) Yes, all the areas you mention are good options (MTE, MTW, TS, CPS, ESB). The important thing is increasing the liklihood that the hotel is a really good 4*... Thanks again!
thereuare Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 Unfortunately rates are very high for these dates and at the moment i think you'll be lucky to get any 4* at $200 or less. If you want to further try for one of the 'better' ones you may want to consider HOTWIRE where you can take a guess as to the hotel offered before your purchase, but HOTWIRE is usually a little more expensive then PRICELINE, and as per above, at the moment i think your budget is going to be a bit of a reach. If you want to give the bidding a try...At the 4* level you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* MTE, MTW, ESB...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* TS and CPS...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* MTE, MTW, ESB and TS...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $178, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $183, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* MTE, MTW, ESB and CPS...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $178, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $183, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* MTE, MTW, TS, CPS, ESB...Bid $185, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $188, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $193, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $198, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $200Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
