Priceline Hotel: 4* or 3.5*NYC seeking advice, 6/4/11 - 6/11/11 (7 nights)

Hello~

I am wondering about the price that I can bid to stay for a 4* or 3.5* hotel in "Time Square" or "Madison Square Garden" area.

My budget is about $150 before tax, is there any chance?

You can try, but at the moment my guess is that a 3.5* at $150 or under in just these two zones may be tough. If you expand your search to include most midtown area, then i think you may be looking at ~$165-$175 for a 3.5*.

At the 3.5* level MTW, TS, ESB, and MSG all typically work well for the average users. The following two zones may be acceptable depending upon your needs (NOTE: the following information applies at the 3.5* level... not at the 4* level):

CPS - has the Hudson Hotel which has a 'hip/chic' vibe, but also notoriously small rooms. Depending upon your needs, this may or may not be acceptable to you

MTE - the known hotels furthest to the east in this zone can be up to a 15 minute walk to the subway, again, which may or may not be acceptable

Based upon the above, let us know how you'd like to proceed... stick with your orignal zones and/or bidding limit, or expand to include other zones as well and/or increase your budget. We'll then suggest a strategy for you to follow.
