jefcolpan Posted March 25, 2011 Report Posted March 25, 2011 I want to book a 3* or better close to disneyland for these dates. Thought I would see what the going rates are before I continued trying without knowing. I am new to priceline/betterbidding. All I have been able to find is the castle inn which is close & cheap but kind of old from what I recall. anyone have thoughts on decent places close enough to walk?thanks
AaronJB Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)What would be your desired budget per night/desired star rating? Additionally, which PRICELINE zones would be acceptable?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
jefcolpan Posted March 30, 2011 Author Report Posted March 30, 2011 I am looking for 3* or better within walking distance of Disneyland. 2 young kids with us. I have only stayed at the Hyatt down the street from Disney & that was very nice but is booked for our times. Only affordable I'm finding is Castle Inn which is a little too affordable if you know what I mean. As for price I'd be looking at $85 & less per night unless that is unrealistic which is why I am asking. Thanks
thereuare Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 ...within walking distance of Disneyland. When using PRICELINE you need to be able to accept a hotel anywhere within the shaded boundaries of the zone you select, and the zones may extend further then you'd be willing to walk to get to the park. If you go to enter 'Anaheim' in the search box on the top right of this board, are there any zones in which you're able to accept staying anywhere in the zone?If not you may want to consider HOTWIRE where you can take an educated guess as to the hotel you're being offered based upon the amenities shown, you can then determine if if it close enough to the park for your needs. However, still some risk involved since you need to guess correctly :) 2 young kids with us. I have only stayed at the Hyatt down the street from Disney & that was very nice but is booked for our times.Note that PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, so you could received a room with only one bed. This area is accustomed to catering to families so there is a large percentage of rooms which can accommodate quad occupancy, so the risk is lower here then elsewhere (say in NYC where there is a large percent of rooms which only have one bed), but if it's a crowded time (ie- the Hyatt is already sold-out) then it may be a bit more difficult then usual. HOTWIRE does allow you to search for up to quad occupancy, but is usually a little more expensive then PRICELINE.Based upon the above let us know your thoughts, questions and/or how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
