Priceline Hotel: Need help from France. NYC from 11 to 17 april

I'm sorry for my English, which I'm learning.

I'm going for my first Trip to New York from 11 to 17 april, in 3 weeks!

I was wondering what can I expect for 125 $ night staying in a 4 star hotel in a good area. May I use priceline or better another one?

Some tips or advices?

Based upon current prices i don't think that $125 will be enough for a 4* hotel for this stay... you can possibly get a 3.5* property Downtown for a little under $125... or a 3.5* in midtown for ~$165 or so.

I would definitely start now as your dates are not too terribly far away, and Spring in NYC is definitely busy. It also may take some time/days, starting lower and working towards your max.
