Priceline Hotel: Houston Hotel 4/2 - 4/3

Trying to book a hotel on 4/2 in the Galleria area with no success even going up to $110.

Tried to book through Orbitz and it shows no rooms available for your date.

Checked the hotels individually and again no rooms available for that date.

Well it appears that the final four in Houston is that night. So are those rooms already booked and paid for or are they being blocked by the NCAA.

There are lots of rooms in houston and I am surprised that an event like the final four would occupy every room in houston (all areas), maybe I am wrong. I know when the superbowl was in dallas you could not find an open room even one year in advance.

Will these rooms be released at the last minute if not used or am I just out of luck.

You can/should continue to try as you never know if/when a room will open up, but the Final Four is a HUGE event (teams, fans, press, etc) and i'm guessing that most hotels are actually booked and not simply that rooms are 'held back'.
