Hotwire Hotel: 4* Atlanta (Midtown) Hotel Melia

I tried Priceline and rebid up to $80, but no luck, so I took the $81 Hotwire offer with hopes it was the W Midtown. I'm a little concerned because Hotel Melia has gotten so many bad reviews on Trip Advisor, but I can't say I wasn't warned. Hotwire says only 60% of people recommend the hotel. Eep. Still, I'm determined to expect the best and deal with the worst. Maybe 40% of the people are just cranky.

I believe this is a new listing in midtown. The amenities were: Smoke-free, Fitness center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, High-speed internet.

And I used the Hotwire search at the top of the page to get there. I hope that's the same as using the plentiful HOTWIRE links available throughout the message boards!

Oh! Just found Melia in the Downtown listings! I confirmed, though, that I found it through a Hotwire search in Midtown. Sounds like the borders may have shifted?

Drat. Bad hotel. Bad, bad hotel. How do I warn people to avoid this hotel like the plague? It's down to a 45% approval rating on Hotwire, and I don't know if that even includes my brand new scathing review yet.

Mildew in the bathroom. Stains on the curtains. And the worst part was the paper thin walls and the tendency of the hotel to attract large, loud groups of screamers. Wow, what a bad experience. I like to turn lemons into lemonade, so I had hoped that people were just picky, but...wow. Bad, bad, bad hotel.

Not four-star. Not midtown. Just bad.

Sorry to hear that this property was a disappointment. If enough HOTWIRE reviews come in negative, hopefully HOTWIRE will consider a change in star rating. Thank you for the follow-up, although again, sorry to hear that this was a lackluster stay.
