invinciblesingh Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Hi AllThis is the first time i am using this forum. Have been reading here from couple of days and really felt that you guys are doing amazing job helping other travelers. So for my tripJust searched for a 4* hotel in Fort lauderdale beach area using the HOTWIRE link in support tab for the dates Apr 9 - Apr 12 / 3 Nights - 2 AdultsGet only 1 choice for 160USD/per night with the following amenities.OceanfrontSmoke Free RoomsFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-Speed Internet AccessSpa Services80% recommendedIs it B or the W or something else? Also should i try PRICELINE as well? if yes, what should be my starting bid. Thanks much
AaronJB Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)My guess would be the B. In terms of PRICELINE, would you be willing to accept any of the 4* properties within this zone?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
invinciblesingh Posted March 23, 2011 Author Report Posted March 23, 2011 I am willing to accept any but the following two. What are the chances of getting these for the above dates. Are these available on priceline recently..etc.4* Hyatt Pier 66 tripadvisor review4* Il Lugano Suites
thereuare Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 You can't exclude a given hotel in the zone when bidding on PRICELINE, you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you select. The Hyatt and Il Lugano were both reported to the board as recently as January and February of this year, but even if they hadn't been seen recently, they would still be a possibility... we have seen hotels 'disappear' and not won for a year or more, then suddenly appear again and start to get received frequently. If there is a hotel you're trying to target or avoid, HOTWIRE can be a better option as you can take an educated guess as to what you may receive based upon the amenities shown before your purchase (or if trying to avoid a hotel which doesn't have a pool, you could safely purchase any hotel with a Pool icon knowing that it was not the one you were hoping to avoid). However, HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so that is the trade-off.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
invinciblesingh Posted March 24, 2011 Author Report Posted March 24, 2011 Ok...thanks.. i will bid. what should be my starting bid.?Also, i am getting W hotel for 175 per night using my business account. Is it a good price..and is the hotel worth it.?
yellowdog Posted March 24, 2011 Report Posted March 24, 2011 invinciblesinghW is a really nice hotel. New and trendy, draws a younger "fashion" crowd. With "much drinks" by the pool on weekends You also got a mandatory $30/night parking there.I think you can do better on PRICELINE when it come to price. But it's nothing wrong with W when it come to quality. Please check and use our links (if possible) in the support page for your hotel direct purchases. How much would you need to save to make an unkown 4* hotel worthwhile for you?Yellowdog. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
