I stayed here not too long ago... rooms were a little small (although we had a rollaway brought into the room which didn't help), but it was clean and the service was generally good. The location is great as you're just one block from the Quarter, yet also don't have to put up with the screaming and yelling that takes place there at all hours of the nite.

Yeah I've stayed here a few times. My GF likes the hotel and it's for her birthday so I just told her I booked her favorite hotel :) and didn't tell her I paid $60/night for it. Got lucky haha. The rooms are a bit small, but for two people they still offer plenty of space. Great restaurant at the base of the hotel and a very good one across the street.

And yes, I prefer staying in the downtown locations generally. Easier to get cabs or get parked, and out of the noise of Bourbon st, but literally a block away if you want it.
