Hi Everyone,

I'm planning a 5-night trip to Paris in April 2012 and I've been reading the posts of travelers who've won bids for the Marriott Rive Gauche (4* Paris hotels in the Latin Quarter - St. Germain area) because I REALLY like that hotel. I know I'm a little early for bidding, but I am very interested in knowing what criteria you changed to continue bidding when all of the areas listed on Priceline have 4* hotels in them and I want this one?

Thanks for your replies.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

You're referring to re-bidding which is outlined here: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained. However, currently there are no re-bid zones available when bidding 4* in Paris.

If/when you're ready to bid let us know your actual dates and desired budget (per nite before taxes and fees) and we'll take it from there.

You can add Opera Quarter East - Les Halles because the hotels in there seem to be far more expensive... and they're in a better location any

Not recommended... we often see users add a zone they're "certain" they won't win because prices are usually higher in that zone and are surprised (sometimes pleasantly other times not) when they're accepted. Perhaps a good strategy with only a day or two to go before the stay, but with over a year to go before traveling (not even eligible to bid yet) why take any unnecessary risks???

I haven't yet been successful for May 8th to 13th of this year, and I've bid LQ-SG and OQE-LH up to $120. I've also tried 5* up to $180 - there's only one in Paris.

In my case, I'd be one of the people pleasantly surprised with winning OQE-LH.
