OneDiaphanous Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 Won this for 2 nights, total with taxes and fees came to about $220.I won't go into all the details, because this was my 2nd day of bidding and I was following quite a complex strategy, but I was thinking this hotel might come up at around $100-120 due to recently reported wins. I had a hint at availability when I added St. Germain/LQ/Mont to another zone and I was given a counteroffer of $113 for a bid at $88. Continued increasing by $2-$3 increments- was counteroffered again at a bid of $96, and won at $98. I think this is just about the minimum that a 4* can be in Paris for the spring season. Quite happy because the lowest rate available on the hotel's site for my dates is 160 Euros ($224) a night. Priceline offered a stay extension at the same rate as well. which I didn't need.Had really been trying for Champs Elysees/OQW or Les Halles/OQE but those zones are very pricey- recent reported bids were well above where I was willing to go, since I had some backups of decently reviewed 1* and 2* hotels between 70 and 80 Euros a night. No worries- this hotel has good transport links. Many thanks to Betterbidding- this site's been great, hubby and I have a 4* Paris trip for the price of a 2*! And yes, for every bid and rebid I used the PRICELINE link here.
