Canes98 Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 I booked the Gaylord Palms thru Hotwire for $116 on Saturday June 18th. The amenities listed are still the same as recently reported.Room Rate: $116.00Taxes & fees: $20.95Total price: $136.95I will be submitting the $30 Entertainment Book rebate for this purchase. This will bring the total cost down to $106.95. I note that this hotel generally cannot be won for much less than $85 on Priceline (approx. $104 with taxes and fees). So, thanks to the Entertainment Book's Hotwire rebate (and Betterbidding's Hotwire hotel list) I gladly paid $3 more for a near guarantee of getting the Gaylord Palms thru Hotwire--the hotel I really wanted to stay at--versus the crapshoot that Priceline can be.A few other notes I wanted to pass along to those who utilize this site often:1. I first clicked on a HOTWIRE link provided by Thereuare in an earlier thread. Once the hotwire page loaded, I closed the browser and then accessed Hotwire by going directly to the website adress provided on the rebate form. I did this in hopes of affiliate credit being awarded to Betterbidding without compromising my chances of getting the $30 rebate.2. The price for the hotel went up and down today (as Hotwire typically does). It started at $120, went up to $124 a bit later, and I bought when it went down to $116.3. The lowest available rate for this hotel on this date is $199.00.Thanks to Betterbidding for allowing me to have strong confidence that the hotel I found was the Gaylord Palms. This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at and I anxiously await my return.

Just to inform others, Doesn't this hotel charge guests a resort fee of $10/night and $7 self-parking fee in addition to Hotwire's price? From their Website:A resort fee of $10 per room per night will be charged which includes daily newspaper, 2 bottles of Dasani water, in-room high speed internet access, complimentary transportation to Disney theme parks, unlimited use of fitness center, and free range balls at Falcon's Fire Golf Club.Parking fees are as follows: $15 per day for valet parking; $7 per day for overnight self parking.
