Do you, or anyone else, know if this hotel used be called the Marriott Point Clear Resort, or was that a different hotel entirely?

It is the same place. Point Clear and Fairhope are used interchangeably in describing it. My friends just got back from there and it is definitely the only resort in that neck of the woods.
