picky Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 Dear all,I am new to Priceline and read your guidelines, incl free zones!I am trying to get a 4* Hotel in Mayfair-Soho, which is usually between 80-87$ (at least most Users got it in this forum)....As I have the opportunity to stay in 2 different hotels for a total of 220$, I am looking for a stay at the same price max. (so we don't have to move).Until know, I was not able to get a hotel for 93$, should I try it at a later point of time, like last-minute? Or does anyone know, if there is some kind of event?Kind regardsPicky

picky Posted March 16, 2011 Author Report Posted March 16, 2011 Ok, I checked them. Many thanks!!The stay is 04/05/2011 - 04/07/2011, for a total of 2 nights.
thereuare Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Rates are date specific, and unfortunately for you, this dates are quite high... i'm doubtful that $87 will be enough for a 4* hotel in this zone. Hopefully you can prove me wrong, so if you want to give it a try you can bid as follows:At the 4* level you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Mayfair-Soho...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. picky Posted March 16, 2011 Author Report Posted March 16, 2011 Thank you. I know the two free rebid-zones, and I have used them. Anyhow, do you know why "this dates are quite high"? It's just that I have an option, but I don't want to move inbetween.... So 93$ are my max.THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
thereuare Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Have you tried the above and were turned down at $90? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
picky Posted March 17, 2011 Author Report Posted March 17, 2011 Yes, I used your PRICELINE link, all three offers were rejected....
thereuare Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 You can try:Select 4* Mayfair-Soho...Bid $83, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $88, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $93... but with your maximum bid just $3 more than your previously rejected bid, you're not leaving yourself much margin to succeed.London is an expensive city and it's not uncommon for $100 not to be enough for a 4* hotel, especially when you're only bidding one zone (the fewer zones you bid the fewer hotels available to accept your bid)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
