Priceline Hotel: 4* Las Vegas (Strip South) Westin

I am new to this and I am trying to get a 5* hotel on the strip. I am trying for 2 rooms 5/27 - 5/30 and offered $75 - through the link. I started with the North side and added the South Side. No luck. I was going to add a 4* option but if I do a 4* I prefer to be on the North Side and since I already checked both it would not let me uncheck the South side.

Here are my questions. Is it reasonable to get a 5* for $75 to $85 on the Strip on Memorial day weekend? If so is there a strategy I should use? Should I try closer to the actual date?

Am I pretty safe I won't get a crummy hotel if I go down to 4* for either the North or South side of the strip?

If I want to add a day later. Do I just work that out with the hotel?

Thanks for any help

Welcome to BetterBidding!

I was going to add a 4* option but if I do a 4* I prefer to be on the North Side and since I already checked both it would not let me uncheck the South side.

Start with reading this link: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained . And just post if you have any additional questions around this.

With current rates would i say no. You're loking at $100+ for your stay if going 5*.

Should I try closer to the actual date?

Sorry to say that we don't have any general answer for this. But Las Vegas usually get's busy around holidays so i wouldn't expect this. Please read this link: Should i Bid Early or Close to Arrival Date

All reported hotel can be found in this link: Priceline Las Vegas Hotels. But you have the 4* Westin in the South zone that's located slight of the Strip. Are you ok with this?

If I want to add a day later. Do I just work that out with the hotel?

Are you asking if the hotel will honor your PRICELINE rate if you want to extend your stay?

Also let us know your max budget/night before tax/fee for a 4* hotel. Have in mind the difference isn't that big between 4* and 5*. So i don't think you can go under your 5* budgett when bidding 4*.

Let us know how we can help you further.

All that info helps - Thanks I will use the link and try again, I thought maybe I was too low for a 5* on a 3 day weekend. My thought was if I need to extend another day, I would just get the going rate directly from the hotel. With that being a Tuesday I suspect it will be lower cost? Most likely I would only extend a day for one of the rooms and could even switch hotels if needed.

So I think I will go to $100 - $110 for the 5* then back down to $80 to $90 for the 4* and see where that gets me.

At current prices i still think $110 will likely fall short for a 5*... i'd guess you're more likely looking at the $120-$145 range.

If you'd like help with a bidding strategy let us know if you want to stick with your $110 maximum bid and if both the Strip North and Strip South zones are acceptable and we'll take it from there.

Just to keep folks up to date - I went up to $115 for a 5* in the North and South Strip sides for memorial day weekend with no luck.

I am going to try for a 4* on the North Side strip as I don't want to get the Westin if I go south side.

I got the hang of the rebidding - thanks for the help

OK to bring you all up to date here is my cautionary tale. I continued to try to get a 5* hotel on the strip and bid up to $138 with no luck as of yesterday. So today I had the bright idea to go for a cheeper 4* hotel. I started on the north strip at $80 added the north strip Condo area with no luck at $90. I got an offer to rebid at $110 which I ignored and foolishly added the south side area and "won" the Westin at $100. Which in reading the reviews isn't on the strip and not rated very well. kinda bummed but stuck so we'll see how it goes. - I blame myself.

Thank you to everyone that helped navigate the process.

BTW - I did use the PRICELINE link so at least I helped the cause

Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding :)

Sorry to see that you don't like the outcome. Yes, the Westin is slight of the strip but it is a very fast walk and no big deal if you ask me. Be sure to check-out Elvis at Bill's Saloon that is close to your hotel. It's great fun!

I always take the TA reviews with a grain of salt. And keep in mind with TA reviews that many of those people paid full price, which is often significantly more, and may have different expectations at those price points. And for some reason is the TA people eager to complain over ridiculous things.

I'm sure you'll have a good when getting there :)

Enjoy your stay.
