AaronJB Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Unfortunately, this property has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board. It may be the Intercontinental Montreal back at 4.5* or a new amenity set for one of the previously reported 4.5*'s (Sofitel, Le Crystal or the Loews Hotel Vogue), or possibly a completely new hotel to the service.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
warrennutik Posted March 14, 2011 Author Report Posted March 14, 2011 Went ahead and booked. Turned out to be the InterContinental Montreal.
slocum Posted March 14, 2011 Report Posted March 14, 2011 I am a newbie here, so bear with me.According to Hotel list IC is a 4*: http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?showtopic=92&Does hotwire.com normally switch up the ratings/amenities to keep us on our toes?Same dates Mar 18-21 shows Intercontinental rates to be $156/night on a related hotwire web-site. That's only $19 difference, is that the norm?

warrennutik Posted March 14, 2011 Author Report Posted March 14, 2011 I am a newbie as well, both to this site and hotwire, so i can't really answer either of your questions. i don't know when/why the Intercontinental was changed from a 4* to a 4.5*. I thought i read on tripadvisor that they did some upgrades last year so maybe that has something to do with it.after i had booked and found out that i got the intercontinental i checked prices on other websites (Orbitz.com, Hotels.com, priceline.com, montreal.intercontinental.com, Expedia.ca, Travelocity.ca) and was disappointed to see that i only saved about $20/night. i am not sure if this is the norm but i was hoping/expecting to save somewhere closer to 30%. perhaps this has something to do with the fact that my booking falls right in the middle of march break.
slocum Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Thx for reply Warren. Yes, other sites listed Intercontinental at around $160, so only a $20 saving.
