wjcassidy Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 Can you advise a bidding strategy for FAIRFAX VA for MARCH 25-27 - 2 NIGHTSI see that there have been some incredible wins for the MASON INN at GMU. I realize there is no guarantee I could get this hotel but it would be great if somehow I could try. As long as I am in Fairfax it's fine.Other than that I am hoping for a 3.5 or a 4* in Fairfax, Va.Hopefully I don't have to go higher than 50$thanks!
wjcassidy Posted March 12, 2011 Author Report Posted March 12, 2011 oops, I meant a 3 or a 3.5 in Fairfax, va

dking Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 Stayed last weekend at the Mason Inn at GMU on a priceline win - It is wonderful! I bid $36 on Priceline for a 2 1/2 star and was upgraded to the 3 star Mason Inn. Loved it!

wjcassidy Posted March 20, 2011 Author Report Posted March 20, 2011 Thank you, my goal is the least expensive 3* or better.
thereuare Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 At the 3* level you have ONE re-bid zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.I'd begin as follows:Select 3* Fairfax...Bid $35, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $38While the above may prove to be too low, rates don't appear too high for these dates, and i'd start with the lowball offers above to see if anything is available this low. (so if rejected don't get discouraged)Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
