ClaudeyRN80 Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 Hello all. Im so glad that I was suggested this site via TA. I have found a 4* hotel with 90% recommendation on hotwire in the Dupont Circle/ Embassy Row area for April 18-21 for 90/night. I am thinking that this is a great deal so I am nervous! Any ideas of which hotel this could be? Thanks in advance for your help! I am hoping for somewhere close to a metro station (within a few walking blocks) and no more than 30/day for parking. Any other areas you all would suggest? I was hoping to spend no more than 100/night.
AaronJB Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Please list the amenities that are showing with the listing and we would be happy to take a look.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
ClaudeyRN80 Posted March 11, 2011 Author Report Posted March 11, 2011 I am so sorry! I thought that I had. The amenities are fitness, resturaunt, business center, and high speed internet access.90% recommendation rate and 4 out of 5 trip advisor rate. the price has gone up a whole dollar and is now 91.00/night
thereuare Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 The Hilton Washington and Towers, Hotel Palomar, and the Dupont Hotel have all been seen with this amenity combination and at the 4* level, so any of these would seem likely... i think the Hilton and Dupont hotel are more likely then the Palomar, but you should be prepared for any of these. What i'm guessing is the Washington Court Hotel appears to be available for your dates for $108/nite and gets good reviews, if you're looking for another option. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
ClaudeyRN80 Posted March 11, 2011 Author Report Posted March 11, 2011 Thank you so much for the info. I will be hopefully booking next week when I have the extra money. I will make sure to book through the link on this site and follow up with what I got. Thanks again for the info!
ClaudeyRN80 Posted March 11, 2011 Author Report Posted March 11, 2011 Do you recall the area of the Washington Court Hotel? I am not seeing the listing. Thank you again
yellowdog Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 ClaudeyRN80It's located in the HOTWIRE White House-Capitol Hill zone. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
ClaudeyRN80 Posted March 16, 2011 Author Report Posted March 16, 2011 Just as a follow up, I was holding out for the best price and it ended up biting me in the tush! The hotel offering with price that I was watching was no longer avaiable. I am going to try priceline to see if I could get something even cheaper. I will post my winnings after I bid in that section. Thanks again for your help!

ClaudeyRN80 Posted March 16, 2011 Author Report Posted March 16, 2011 Ok..I can keep it in this thread. wanted to make sure I put it in the right place :)
AaronJB Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 There have not been many reports to the board about Travelocity's "Top Secret" side of that service, but that would be another alternative to look at besides HOTWIRE.Thank you for using the site's Travelocity, PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links.
ClaudeyRN80 Posted March 17, 2011 Author Report Posted March 17, 2011 Thanks AaronJB...They only had 7 top secret hotels though...and they were more than I wanted to pay. Maybe their program will get a little more popular and they will have more options to choose from soon!
AaronJB Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 Sorry to hear that the Travelocity discount service didn't have anything to offer. :) Please keep us updated on what you decide (whether PRICELINE or HOTWIRE) and let us know if you have any additional questions at all.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
ClaudeyRN80 Posted March 18, 2011 Author Report Posted March 18, 2011 Alright! Finally able to close this thread..I finally decided on Priceline for my purchace (and OF COURSE I used the link here to bid ;-) ). I got the Courtyard by Marriott in Crystal City for $65/night 4/18-21! Very happy with my hotel! Thanks again for all the help guys! I am singing your praises on FB and twitter!
ClaudeyRN80 Posted March 18, 2011 Author Report Posted March 18, 2011 I attempted 3.5*-4* in Crystal City ranging from 50-75 after TEN re-bids and finally gave up. Started over with 3* Crystal City @$50 and was suggested by Priceline to go up to $65 without having to had a new zone. Did as suggested and got the Courtyard. Very happy with my hotel. I used the PRICELINE link from this site. Thank you again for all of your great info!
