Hi , i am new to both the site and to using priceline. Thanks for the help in advance.

I am looking to book a 4 star hotel in the CENTRAL district of rome for the dates of March 23rd to March 26th for 2 people. My budget is 100-120 dollars a night.

if i choose 4 stars then i cannot be book at the crappy 3.5 star (Hotel Tempio di Pallade) correct?

Thanks again, great site.

PS - i will make sure to use your PRICELINE link and everyone else should remember to as well!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

The Hotel Tempio di Pallade was last reported to the board at the 3* level, so unless it was upgraded to the 4* level, then "no", you would not be able to receive this property when keeping your minimum star level at 4 stars.

Unfortunately you don't have any re-bid zones to use when bidding 4* in this area.

Before bidding, i'll also point out that i see the Hotel Commodore has an Economy Room (don't know what that means) which includes breakfast for $131/nite... a Deluxe room (also including breakfast) for $141/nite. While just slighly more than your budget above, not sure if this would be of interest to you and know exactly what you'll be receiving, or if you'd prefer to give PRICELINE a shot.

Thank you for the quick response.

I looked at the hotel commodore and i am hoping for something a bit nicer then that.

If my budget grew to 185-200 US dollars do you think i could find something?

I don't think i said above that you didn't have a chance at $120/nite or less, i was simply suggesting a non-opaque rate that was close to your budget, and sometimes it's worth a few extra dollars to choose the hotel.

If you're looking to spend $185-$200 i would think that there would also be 'regular' bookings within your budget where you could pick the hotel you want... but $185-$200 seems like a pretty big jump from $100-$120; what exactly are your goals for this stay?
