Izzycam Posted March 9, 2011 Author Report Posted March 9, 2011 Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your fugure bidding and travel purchases.Ok, found out I wasn't using the link from better bidding , silly me.Have finally registered with the American version on PricelineTried to put another bid in, but it says, I've tried too many times today. So will wait till tomorrow and try again, maybe at $120 like the other person on here.Do you think this will work. Thanks
yellowdog Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 IzzycamThanx for using boards PRICELINE link :) With current rates would i say that if you hit at $120 would this be a good deal for you. My guess is that you're looking at $160-175. But it's hard to give an estimate. If you would be ok with a 4* is my guess that you could get this for a better price.Keep us updated and let us know if we can be of further help along the way.Yellowdog.
Izzycam Posted March 10, 2011 Author Report Posted March 10, 2011 OK, tried $120 and $135 both rejected, also made the area larger to include Mestre still no luck. I've found a price of $209 to buy right now for this hotel, so don't really want to pay over $150, otherwise it's not such a bargain.I'll keep trying. Will let you know, Thanks for the help.
Izzycam Posted March 10, 2011 Author Report Posted March 10, 2011 Just tried $175.....no luck. That's not such a bargain if it can be bought now, knowing the name of the hotel for $209.Any suggestions
yellowdog Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 Please list the star rating, zone and amenties HOTWIRE associates with the hotel you're looking at and we'll have a look at this.Yellowdog.
Izzycam Posted March 11, 2011 Author Report Posted March 11, 2011 Am trying to get the Hilton Molino Stucky for 2 rooms arriving on the 18th march for 3 nights.Lots of people on here seem to have got it for around 120 dollars. The lowest price I can find on the web is 209 dollars which can be bought anytime, plenty of rooms left. So obviously would like a good deal off price line, otherwise why are they offering a 5 star that can't be had.Ideally would have liked to have paid around 160 dollars including taxes. As I thought PRICELINE were supposed to offer up to 50% off.Thank you again, for your kind help.
Izzycam Posted March 11, 2011 Author Report Posted March 11, 2011 Sorry forgot to put....5 star Venice, Venice area first then added Mestre area.
thereuare Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 The lowest price I can find on the web is 209 dollars which can be bought anytime, plenty of rooms left.Where are you finding this rate, as direct from the Hilton website i'm seeing the lowest rate for these dates to be $300/nite. As the numbers of rooms left is not shown to the public, how do you know that they have plenty of rooms available? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Izzycam Posted March 11, 2011 Author Report Posted March 11, 2011 I tried the Hilton hotel and asked for 8 rooms, and they said they had the availability.PRICELINE is offering the hotel on it's website named at 239 dollars, sorry not 209 my mistake. But it still not that much of a saving, considering they say they offer such good discounts.Thank you again.
thereuare Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 Using this link to the Hilton Molino Stucky, March 18-March 21, i'm seeing a rate of $425/nite, not the $239 you're quoting... are we looking at the same hotel and dates? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Izzycam Posted March 11, 2011 Author Report Posted March 11, 2011 My gosh, I tell you what, either the Hilton Stucky are reading this site, or I'm going mad.......It has just changed to $425 to be bought direct named from PRICELINE.I'm not in the business of telling pork pies (lies) Ha! ha!.. I emailed my friend the prices and she printed them out....$209 one day....$229 another then $239 and now $425........hellova pricing strategy. What on earth is going on.
MadFlyer Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 Checked www.lastminute.com and found that the Molino Stucky comes up with only one room available opaque, they show trip advisor so can figure out hotel. It is also only available there for 2 nights, Friday and Sat. of your stay Tried 2 rooms and did not come up. Rates really go up on Sunday.Risky to see if another room becomes available after booking first one. The rate is 129 pounds which is $209 opaque.... Identified with text...This amazing 5 star hotel is the perfect place for indulging yourself in luxury and enjoying a quiet... Was in Venice last weekend and it was so packed, especially with Chinese tourists. Booked the Westin for 148 euros at last minute for that stay and it was alright, but again, had filled up with Chinese groups. The Molino Stucky was available then for same rate and I tried priceline to $180 with no win. Good Luck.
Izzycam Posted March 11, 2011 Author Report Posted March 11, 2011 It's a mystery isn't it.There seems to be no set rules whether you book early or late, it seems to be a luck thing.I guess I've been unlucky this time. never mind.Good Luck.
