jber Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 Any idea what the 3* $63 might be? Fitness, pool, internet, business. Description doesn't look like the previously id'd Crowne Plaza Silver Spring.(I'd love it to be the Hilton Garden Inn)Hotwire has 3.5* for $66, looks like Hyatt Regency Bethesda which would be ok.Amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, BusinessThank you(this was originally combined with another post in Priceline forum; I separated them)
jber Posted March 8, 2011 Author Report Posted March 8, 2011 I'm confused by the DC-Maryland suburbs and the new zones including Bethesda. I'd be happy with the 3* Hilton Garden Inn (I know I can't be guaranteed anything) - but are Legacy and Residence Inn in the Bethesda zone or Maryland/DC suburbs? Meaning, might I get them if I bid 3* in Bethesda? Thanks (this is clarification of an earlier post)
AaronJB Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 Please keep all discussion of this stay within this thread. Thanks. :)The zones included in the DC area appear to have changed recently, although there have not been reports since the change. At first glance, the Bethesda and Rockville areas, which were previously separated, are now in different regions. The Bethesda zone is now part of the DC region, while the Rockville zone remains in the Maryland-DC Suburbs area. The HGI Bethesda looks to fall in the Bethesda zone on the PRICELINE map, so it would be a possibility in that zone. *At first glance*, it would appear some of the outlying zones have just been moved into the DC bidding area.Thank you for letting us know about the changes in zone options so that we can update the site's Priceline Hotel List for the state.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
AaronJB Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 The 3.5* HOTWIRE would be a likely match for the Hyatt. The 3* Bethesda-Silver Spring has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but if you look on the detail page (click "see detail", then scroll down) there is a 4.5/5 tripadvisor rating (do confirm that you are seeing this as well - 4.5/5 circles shaded w/the tripadvisor logo.) That might be the HGI, which has the same tripadvisor rating.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
jber Posted March 9, 2011 Author Report Posted March 9, 2011 Thanks for the help.We decided to use Hotwire (through BB of course) and got the Hyatt Bethesda 3.5* for $66/night. Priceline mix of zones was a bit too confusing with short notice for our trip!
AaronJB Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 Congrats on your success. :)Very nice deal and hope you are looking forward to your stay.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's HOTWIRE link.Enjoy your stay.
