Priceline Hotel: Hotel Near Disney Around New Years

I'm trying to bid on a hotel/resort in the Lake Buena Vista area from around the 27th of December to New Years Day. Is it best to wait until closer to that time to bid? In looking at the regular rates for the hotels in that area, the prices more than double for that week (given, it's probably the busiest week of the year for that area), but I also don't want to miss out on getting something that's reasonably priced (would be happy with a Courtyard Marriott or equivalent).

I guess my question is, I've tried a few bids and been unsuccessful as of now. Is it better to wait until the fall and try to bid then, or will prices not change that much for a time as busy as the one we're looking at?

Thanks for any input!

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

There is no way to know whether rates will fall between now and the date/s of travel. Given that this is a busy period, prices (especially for the latter two days of your stay) may remain a bit high, although HOTWIRE rates don't look too bad, considering.

What bids have you made so far?

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

This is prime time in Mickey world. Orlando don't get busier than this Christmas week. And the hotels know this.

So i wouldn't wait to book to the fall. If your plans are firm so book your stay now.

If you would like to get help with a bidding strategy so please post your budget/night, zone(s) you're willing to stay in and the star rating for the hotel.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

as yellowdog said this is one of the prime times for Disney.

Usually one of the best bets to me if not the best near disney is the Hilton in Disney, it actually can usually be booked directly for around$100 a night lots of times, no resort fee, $10 parking, disney shuttle line so you dont have to pay at disney to park, and the only non-disney hotel to have extended hours at the theme park.

Your dates of stay HOTWIRE is showing the usual Omni resort nearby for $98 a night, remember they have resort AND parking charges there. Im guessing on PRICELINE you could probably get that or a 4* in the area for maybe $70 or $80.

If you know you're going for sure id def just go ahead and do it. These rates are definitely fair and are unlikely to get much better if any.
