Offthebeatenpath Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 Hi,Today was my first time using Priceline and I wanted to post my bid information and contribute as I found your website very helpful. Before I bid I did a fair bit of research reading the Priceline and Hotwire forum and paying close attention to the comments about the rebid process. I checked Hotwire and saw a 5-star hotel (Strip North) listed at $149. I guessed it to be either the Wynn or Venetian cross-referencing the amenities listed and your list of hotels. I figured I could get a 5 star north hotel using Priceline slighter cheaper than the Hotwire price. I checked your calendar of wins and read the different posts of winning bids. Another member had won the bid at $136 for the same weekend and I used that amount as my benchmark. Based on thereuare's previous comments, I knew that I had 11 rebid zones. Here is the list of bidding amounts:$75, $85, $90, $95, $100, $110, $115, $125, $130, $133, $136 - at $130 I got an option to rebid at $160 which I rejected and kept biddingThanks to the forum for the helpful information! I can't wait to plan my next trip as I enjoyed the bidding process and scoring a great rate! It is probably a good thing I'm going to Vegas :)
