koagem Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 Hi,This would be my first ever Hotwire bid, and I would appreciate any help. Am happy to use the affiliate link if I book. This is for a stay checking in 3/17 and out 3/19 for 1 person. Washington DC Dupont-Embassy Row area.4.5 star, $101 a night. Amenities: Boutique, Fitness, Restaurant, Business center, high speed internet and tennis nearbyRecommended in 90% of customer reviews.Looking at the package deals, the Fairfax at Embassy Row sort of fits, and it is the only one listed at 4.5. Im afraid that it could be the Madison, which I dont see as listed on Hotwire, but is listed on Hotels.com as a 4.5 - the Madison looks like a nice hotel, but is not in the best area, and more importantly, there are reports of a major strike going on there for the past month. I have worked downtown around similar strikes and would really prefer to avoid that. Thoughts? Thanks
yellowdog Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!I don't belive that this property is the Madison. Best guess would be Fairfax at Embassy Row.but is listed on Hotels.com as a 4.5Please read this link: Hotwire ratings and reviews FAQPlease use the site's HOTWIRE link, and let us know how it goes or if you need any additional help with your stay.Yellowdog.PS. koagem Posted March 9, 2011 Author Report Posted March 9, 2011 Hi,I was going to wait out Hotwire, but the price went up to around $130 a night, which was out of my budget. It started going down again, but not significantly, and since I need a reservation for next weekend and found a bed and breakfast with a better rate, I ended up booking there. I ended up booking a room with www.thedupontcollection.com for $95 a night, and almost used airbnb.com, which also had nice recommendations.I did see some regular rates on Priceline that were better than some of the offers on Hotwire, but I think if I had booked the Hotwire rate the day I posted here, it would have been quite a good deal. Thanks for your help!
