mjoe Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 :) Love this site. I just followed what others have done previously.Bid $75 5* Hangpu. I got a counter offer at $95. I rejected it. I added Pudong & increased my bid to $80. It was accepted!!!I used your PRICELINE link to bid. Thanks a bunch :)
yellowdog Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Congratulations on your success!Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding :) We hope you're satisfied with the outcome and will like the Hilton.Enjoy your stay.Yellowdog.
xybsh Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Seems around $100 including tax per night at shanghai, very nice. But can you get the reward point as well?
mjoe Posted April 9, 2011 Author Report Posted April 9, 2011 Seems around $100 including tax per night at shanghai, very nice. But can you get the reward point as well?I don't think so. But frankly I'd rather pay $80/night than $230+/night & get points. :)
AaronJB Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 PRICELINE / HOTWIRE reservations are not eligible for rewards points. It doesn't hurt to politely ask about it at check-in, but be prepared that they may say no.
calazn Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Marriott has given me points for PRICELINE reservations twice already. Didn't even have to ask. Just make sure you give them your Member#. It helps if you have Elite status, too :)
mjoe Posted May 9, 2011 Author Report Posted May 9, 2011 We're back from our China trip. Wanted to give feedback on the Hilton.Room was very clean & comfortable. Service was very good but overall feel of the Hotel is a bit pretentious. Bakery, lounges, restaurants & internet access very expensive for China. Location was great. The carpets & wallpaper in the hallways are a bit tired but those were the only signs that the Hotel was older. Frankly at $80/night, this was a steal & I would book there again. If I had to pay full price I would probably go somewhere else but with the help of this site I'll never have to pay full price :)
AaronJB Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Glad to hear you had a mostly enjoyable stay. We look forward to helping with your next trip. :)
CosmicGirl Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 Thanks to your bidding strategy I just got the same priceline deal for my trip ($81/night actually)! Thank you very much for sharing.
