gibosn96lp Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Hi, was trying to get a 3* or better hotel (3 rooms) in downtown Cleveland for 7/22-24 and started with $55. When rejected, upped to $60 and added Southeast Cleveland zone (was rejected again). Increased to $65 and added Westlake and got Residence Inn Cleveland Westlake. When I checked the list view there were no hotels in this area higher than 2.5*. When I called them, they said that when naming your own price, there are hotels that aren't in the list of hotels you can purchase through them at their priceline discount price. This wouldn't be an issue if it was just me but I booked 3 rooms for 6 guys for a baseball weekend where we wanted to walk to Progressive Field... Guess I didn't know there could be hotels not listed in the regular view... Is this new? I've done this for a while in Chicago and never had this problem.
AaronJB Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Sorry to hear about the situation. :) If there is an option to bid at a particular star rating in a particular zone, then there are possible hotels at that level. The two sides of PRICELINE can differ - while many hotels can be seen on both sides of the service, some only offer regular rate inventory and vice versa. Overall though, you have to go by the options when bidding - if there is an option in a particular zone, then there are possible hotels at that star level.Thank you for letting us know about this new PRICELINE property so that we can update the site's Priceline Hotel List for the state.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE link to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
