Priceline Hotel: Help with Chicago Booking - May 20 to May 23

Hello,

Any one have any ideas on what I can bid to get a 4* North Michigan Ave hotel from May 20 to May 23? I've attempted a number of bids from $60 up to $115 with out any luck or any bid backs. Is there something big going in Chicago that weekend?

The issue with these dates is the NRA (National Restaurant Association) show, which is one of the biggest conventions of the year and runs 5/21-24 (although there's probably a lot of people coming in 5/20.) Rates are definitely on the higher side for these dates, and with the combination of the convention and higher Spring tourist traffic, unfortunately may stay high (or go higher.) What would be your desired budget per night?

Thanks! That explains it. We had previously booked in the area for under $100.

We were trying to figure out how much further to go (we ran out of bids for today) or to look at buying Hilton points and try to get in the Conrad. Anyone have an idea of how high to go in the Mag Mile area during a busy time?

For a 4* River North/NMA area, you may have to go as high as $150-175 for these dates (and possibly a tad higher if hotels are not discounting aggressively due to what's going on), although I'd start at $130 and work higher by $5's.
