shaky Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 Hi all, I'm new to world of priceline bidding. I found this site while searching for tips on how to bid for a hotel in Boston.I've found a great deal of information on this site and appreciate all those who post.I have a few questions, I am looking for a 4* hotel in Boston's Copely Square-Theatre District for May 4, 2011 to May 8, 2011 and am hoping someone can provide some advice on what to bid and if I'm wasting my time bidding where I'm at.Today I started my bidding at $100 and bumped it $5 each time (using the re-bid strategy I found on this forum).I got declined with my last bid at $125. Am I wasting my time at the $100-$125 range? Should I keep trying at this range every 24hrs?I'd be willing to pay upwards of $150 per night (but don't want to start my bidding at $150 if I don't have to), is this reasonable?I appreciate any advice on what to bid that you can provide... PS. When I bid earlier today I used the PRICELINE link I've found on the forum.Cheers, shaky
AaronJB Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)I believe the bid will unfortunately may take closer to $150, but you do have a bit of time - you can try $125 again at the end of this week and the middle of next week to see if any inventory comes online. Or, if you want to try and wrap it up, you can move up by $5's (so next bid at the 4* level at $130, then $135 if $130 isn't accepted. Hopefully you'll be accepted in the $135-145 range. I am seeing a 3.5* in the Back Bay-Copley area on HOTWIRE for $108 if you don't need a 4*.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
