Bidding by amenities

Looking for a 4* in Seattle - Pike and see people mentioning bidding using amenities to get a specific hotel. I can't find how to do this on priceline. Also, I see people mention a hotel being offered at a specific rate with amenities but without the name of the hotel. I can't see where such a thing is offered. The only way I can see to go for a hotel without knowing the name is by bidding, where there is no "offer."

help anyone?

You must be looking at Hotwire posts. There is no bidding; it is just an opaque listing that you purchase.

You can also see amenities on Travelocity's Secret Hotels and to a lesser degree, LastMinuteTravel.com.

HOTWIRE shows a set of listings with the star rating, amenities, price and zone for each listing, but not the hotel name until after purchase.

PRICELINE's discount service is bidding. You can read more at this link.

Two different services - HOTWIRE is often slightly-to-moderately more expensive, but is less opaque than PRICELINE.
