babarage Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 Hi, I have started looking for a hotel in Chicago for the 14th till the 17th of July. Found a 4* hotel North Michigan Avenue - Water Tower - Gold Coast area hotel for 120 dollars with bed choice, smoke-free, restaurant, fitness, hi speed internet en business. 4 on tripadvisor. 90% hotwire customer recommends. The Affinia is the only hotel on the list with those amenities but has a 4,5 on tripadvisor. So any ideas?
thereuare Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 The Tripadvisor information show by HOTWIRE is not updated in real time, only about once per month, so it's possible that the user review rating has changed since HOTWIRE's last update. No guarantees that this is the case, but given the review rating is only off by a half a star, it is quite possible... but this difference, as well as the fact that each of these amenities are somewhat common for the area, does cast a 'shadow of doubt' for this ID and it could be a different property not yet reported (or previously reported but not with this amenity combination)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. babarage Posted June 18, 2011 Author Report Posted June 18, 2011 After attempting to get a hotel thru Priceline but with no luck for an affordable price we've decided to stay in Chicago's suburbs rather than expensive downtown and booked a room at a hotel in Schaumburg.
AaronJB Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 Did you book via PRICELINE/HOTWIRE? If so, which hotel did you get? The Schaumburg area is pretty nice, and IKEA is a great place to browse and their food court is pretty good and cheap - 99 cent breakfasts last I'd checked. If you did not book via PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, nice hotels out that way can generally be gotten for cheap via PRICELINE.
babarage Posted June 20, 2011 Author Report Posted June 20, 2011 I found a good deal on the Hilton Garden Inn so opted for that.
