ibl Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 Hi,I am planning a trip to NYC 8 May-16 May.As this is going to be my first trip to NYC (and the first time U try using Hotwire or Priceline) I would appreciate any information.I would like a good place (4*) which is close to subways and is considered safe to walk also at night.I would like to get a price (including all taxes etc.) that is ~200$. Is that possible?
thereuare Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please start by reading your messagesAt the 4* level MTE, MTW, CPS, Times Square and ESB all typically work well for the average user... please go to PRICELINE and look at the boundaries of these zones and let us know if all are acceptable. If so, or once we know which zone(s) you want to exclude, we'll then have a better idea if your budget (which is equivalent to ~$170 bid price) is realistic and be able to suggest a strategy to follow. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

ibl Posted February 28, 2011 Author Report Posted February 28, 2011 Went to Priceline and tried bidding. Started at $150 and got up to $170 on TS, MTE, MTW,CPS with no luckWould appreciate any guidence
AaronJB Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 I don't think you're too far off, especially in MTE. I think it may take another $5-10 ($175-180) for MTE, although I'm guessing you may be looking at closer to $200 (possibly taking $180-195) for the other zones. Spring in NYC is unfortunately a busy/expensive time.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
