Hi,

I would need some help in bidding for a hotel in DC in April for 3 nights. Preferably near to the Metro, not that quiet in the evening and in downtown and convention center zone.

In this case, which star level should I start with? Any bidding strategy? I have stayed in Red Roof Inn previously in September 2009 and it was alright for a 2* hotel but the bed was not very comfortable.

Unfortunately rates are very high for these dates and at the moment i'm doubtful that $100 will be enough for a 3* or higher hotel... what is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels?

My successful bid (finally) at $180 after many days of trying for Whitehouse and Capitol Hill areas. Noted that Priceline counter offered me $200, $205 and $210 on three separate biddings.

The hotel is Hotel Lombardy. Any review on this hotel?
