Evess Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 Hi,I would need some help in bidding for a hotel in DC in April for 3 nights. Preferably near to the Metro, not that quiet in the evening and in downtown and convention center zone. In this case, which star level should I start with? Any bidding strategy? I have stayed in Red Roof Inn previously in September 2009 and it was alright for a 2* hotel but the bed was not very comfortable.
yellowdog Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 If you would like to get help with a bidding strategy so please post your budget/night before tax/fee and the star rating for the hotel. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
Evess Posted February 26, 2011 Author Report Posted February 26, 2011 Maximum budget will be USD100 before tax. 3* and above. Not sure if it's unrealistic for this period though? Thanks!
thereuare Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 Unfortunately rates are very high for these dates and at the moment i'm doubtful that $100 will be enough for a 3* or higher hotel... what is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Evess Posted February 27, 2011 Author Report Posted February 27, 2011 I guess it would be around USD300 or so if through conventional booking. So in this case I think my budget should be USD150 or more?
Evess Posted March 6, 2011 Author Report Posted March 6, 2011 My successful bid (finally) at $180 after many days of trying for Whitehouse and Capitol Hill areas. Noted that Priceline counter offered me $200, $205 and $210 on three separate biddings. The hotel is Hotel Lombardy. Any review on this hotel?
