I was hoping I could get the Hyatt Rengency for $55-65 like usual but it sounds like it might be a prime weekend due to the St. Pattys day holiday. I ended up bidding a 4* NMA for $77 and received the Sheraton Chicago. This is going to be my first time staying at this property. The Location and property both look great. I'm looking forward to it.

Any recomendations for nearby places to park. What is the average price I should be looking to spend for a full day. I DO NOT want to pay $50 a night parking at the hotel. Thanks :)

There isn't a good solution to Chicago and parking, unfortunately. However, this location is at least better than most; there are a number of open lots in the area, as well as one or two garages. Navy Pier, which is about a 2-3 minute drive to the East of the Sheraton, is also a good bet, and I believe is around $20-25.

If you're driving in, you could park in some place like Evanston for $13, but then it becomes paying to take the train downtown, etc. That's another option depending on how you're driving in, but not a perfect one either and depending on your view, may just be worthwhile to park downtown instead.

I'll also recommend the Dominicks Grocery a block or so West of this hotel (on the corner of Illinois and Columbus - NW corner) for cheaper snacks/drinks.

I also quite like Fox and Obel Market and Cafe (fox-obel.com), which is about 2 blocks East on Illinois and McClurg.

Lakeview rooms at this property are a paid upgrade, but I would request a "high floor" on either the North or South face of the building, and you should be able to get a nice city and/or partial water view.
