Hello

I am going to NYC with a friend from June 11th to 18th and we are looking for one room in Manhattan. We have a limited budget but would like to stay somewhere nice (and clean!).

Ideally we would like a 4* hotel for a maximum of $150-160 per night including taxes and fees in CPS, Chelsea, MTE, MTW or UWS. Do you think this is realistic or should we review our star rating or budget?

I had a look at the tips on the forum but I am new to bidding for hotel rooms so any advice on the best strategy would be much appreciated!

I will be using the hotwire and PRICELINE links on this site :)

Thank you very much!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

$150 all-in is equivalent to about a $125 bid, and based upon current rates that is not very likely to be enough for a 4* on these dates. If you want to give it a try you can bid as follows:

At the 4* level in NYC you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* CPS, Chelsea, MTE, MTW and UWS...

Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $118, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $123, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $125

Any questions feel free to ask.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
