jsmithsiu94
Anyone try to snag a hotel in Louisville for Kentucky Derby? Dates 5/5/- 5/8. Not sure any hotels would even allow Priceline's Name Your Own Price for such a busy weekend. Thoughts? Link to comment
yellowdog
Why not try if your plans are firm? If it's a big event would bidding early be the best thing (in my book). You can also look in boards Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins for reports.Let us know how we can help you further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog. AaronJB
There's no way to know if more inventory will come online towards the dates, but given the size of the event, I would definitely try to lock something in as I think hotels will hold back inventory looking for last-minute walk-ins to pay full price.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. trekker
I live about 45 miles from Churchill Downs and have been to about 20 KY Derby's. Since the majority of attendees arrive via some form of public transportation, look at other areas in Louisville to stay. Best way to get there and back from the KY Derby is to ride a cab. There will be lanes open just for cabs and buses going to the Derby. The cab lines after the Derby moves much faster than the bus lines. If you get there "very" early in the morning you may be able to park in someone's yard for a high dollar price but I don't recommend that option. Link to comment
