Hi,

we are lokking for a room from 3/14-3/16.

We would like to stay in Georgetown in a 4-3* hotel.

I understand the rebid strategy and already tried upto $95.

It would be nice to get a strategy and a guess how high we

have to go. By the way, maybe you have a advice from which

zones we can discover washington dc.

Is Georgetown the only zone you're willing to stay in?

No, but I'm not familiar with dc, I read, that dupont circle should also be nice

for a sightseeing trip. Maybe you can recommend other zones. Thanks for your quick answer.

Do you know why the inventory is bad, I checked the conventions and there are no big ones while

this period.

Not sure what's going on in the city for these dates, but rates on HOTWIRE are quite high in the core/central areas. Rates for areas further out - such as Alexandria - do look somewhat more reasonable.

The most frequently bid zones in DC are:

Convention Center-Capitol Hill

Dupont Cirlce-Woodley Park

Whilte House - Downtown

As i've stated many times on the board before, DC is an event driven market, and here events can mean much more than just conventions... government meetings, congress sessions, rallies, school graduations or other related events, etc. These are just a few examples which can effect hotel demand and won't show up on a conference calendar.
