First off...LOVE this site. Second...since I love the site we'll look beyond the Michigan logo on thereuare's avatar (totally joking) Third: will totally book through your links and will tell ALL my friends to do the same. Awesome resource. Thanks to all that run this.

Looking to stay Wednesday 3-23-11 through Sunday 3-27-11. Would prefer 5* or 4* NORTH. Second choice would be 5* South...would be stoked for any 4* South except: Trying to avoid NYNY (terrible experience) and don't like Westin...

I'd like to keep it around/under $175 per night.

In your opinion, what strategy should I use on PL to begin bidding on NORTH 5* (Wynn/Venetian) since I'm staying for 4 nights?

Thanks!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Since you can't avoid or bid on a specific hotel should your priorite look like this,

5* North

4* North

5* South

Rates are on the higher side for your dates. $175 might not cut it for 5*. What would your max/night be before tax/fee for a 4*?

Thanx for using boards PRICELINE link :)

Ideally I'd like to keep under $175 per night (before taxes/resort fees). I see on the win board for that date range a Treasure Island Wednesday win for $150 and a TI Sat win for $100. I see Friday and Saturday Wynn Wins for $143 per night. I'm curious if my Wednesday start date is going to raise the total per night rate?

Thanks for everything!

Just a heads up that I was looking for the same time period and the prices were ridiculous for Vegas standards. After doing some research I found out there is a massive construction expo going on that week/weekend that brings in 140,000 attendees and only happens every 3 years. Combine that with spring break and march madness types and lots of places are sold out. I'm lucky and can move my plans a week later.

OHLRadio,

Thanks for the info.

HuskerJay,

Rates in Vegas change quicker then money changes hands from one side of the table to the other, i don't think it's the Wednesday that is effecting this stay, but what i'm seeing is rates slightly higher for your middle nites (Thur and Fri) vs. the first and last nites.

If you first want to try for a 5* in the North Strip you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 5* Strip North...

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $173, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $175

Any questions feel free to ask. If rejected, we'll then weigh your options for your next move? Also, if rejected, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?

Sign up for the players club card. I go there often, so I may be getting exclusive rates, but I'm going March 28-April 4th and I'm getting rates at NYNY for $29/night, MGM for $39/night and TI and Mirage gave me $49/night. TI's resort fee's are optional, but NYNY and MGM are included in the price. Weekends rates I'm getting for $129 at TI and was able to get $59 at NYNY.

Go to www.mlife.com and if you don't already have one, join their Player's Club to see if you will have access to the exclusive rates for MLife Players Club Members.

You also need to consider that it's Spring Break and the rates are going to be higher. Venetian has a special going on right now for $159/night with 2 tickets Phantom of the Opera.

Sign up for e-mail alerts to get exclusive rates as well.

For Vegas, HOTWIRE is iffy on whether or not you are going to get a deal. I lived there and worked at The Mirage, and go back 3-5 times a year. The deals on HOTWIRE vary and sometimes you actually end up paying more on travel sites than what is going to be offered on their specials on their websites or through their e-mail specials.

Also, go to their Facebook pages, they do exclusive rates for Facebook fans as well.

If you want to spend $150/night, try one of the newer casino's at City Center. The Cosmopolitan is new and the rooms are beautiful, as are Aria's. But they don't have theme's, but they are really nice. Vdara is about the same rate wise, and they have kitchenette's.

MGM properties are running a 72 hour sale right now, so check those out before you go with HOTWIRE.

Also consider that you are going over a weekend as well, rates are going to be 3-4x the normal rate as well, so getting it under $200 may be a challenge since most casino's are $300/night and over.

4star south properties can include Luxor, Excalibur and even Tropicana, and those are CRAP properties, so try to stay mid-strip if you can for 4 stars.

And IF by some chance, the property posts a rate that is lower than what you were given on the website, HOTWIRE will give you credit for future travel.
