Started bidding at $105 rejected, $100 rejected, $90 rejected, $95 rejected, $100 rejected, starting to get annoyed... Don't want to change zones as we are not renting a car and need to be downtown. Found this forum and saw that people have been winning bids downtown with $70-$80. So I start trying that. $75 rejected, add 3.5 stars rejected, $80 rejected, add 3.5 stars rejected...Not sure if I am doing something wrong, but I have been bidding close to what Priceline says is a recent winning bid and what this forum has said and still no luck.Any suggestions?PS. AaronJB Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Possibly some sort of issue with the amount of rooms - I'm seeing a 4* in the downtown zone on HOTWIRE for $107 when searching for these dates, but only when searching for 1 room/2 people. If searching for multiples of that (2/4, etc) that does not appear, and when searching for more than 2 rooms/4, there is nothing in the downtown LA zone.Rates and inventory vary by dates, so what may have been required for other posters may differ in comparison to these dates.What would be your desired budget per room/per night?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Lermy Posted February 23, 2011 Author Report Posted February 23, 2011 Thanks for your reply.It's a stag of 10 guys.Was hoping to get 5 rooms so each guy paid $50 per night ($100 per room per night). Not really interested in spending more than $60 per night per person as we won't be in our rooms all that much.The other alternative is to sleep 4 guys to a room and just call a hotel and negotiate.If we were to go with the hotwire route, can we get 4 guys to a room?

Lermy Posted February 23, 2011 Author Report Posted February 23, 2011 Well my friends said they would be ok with expanding the search so I did.Using your PRICELINE link, I bid $110 for Hollywood/West Hollywood and got confirmed at the Roosevelt first try.Thanks again for the help.
