jmeggs
I always use HOTWIRE as my guide for what to bid on PRICELINE for cars, but it seems really random. It seems to jump substantially from one weekend to the next (no, not including long weekends)... is there a strategy I should be following for when to bid on car rentals? Link to comment
thereuare
There are other factors besides long weekends which effect demand, and it is likely that there is more/less demand for rentals from one week you're searching to the next... you may not know the reason for the increased/lower demand, but i'd almost assure you that there is something happening which effects why rates are high/low from one set of dates to the next.If you need help with an upcoming rental please start a NEW TOPIC and include the city and dates of travel. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
dinanm3atl
What he is saying is true. Any type of odd event can increase the rates and sometimes by a lot. Could seem like a small event but if people are attending rates are higher. Link to comment
