Direct rate from Mercure.com is 65 Euro for two people. Not sure if this includes taxes. Mercure.com is very confusing.

Looking at the map, it looks like this hotel is actually not in Priceline's Nice city zone, but in the airport zone. Can anyone who knows the area confirm?

I'm not familiar with this area, but looking at a few maps it appears to be properly categorized in the Nice (non-airport) zone. This hotel appears to be north of where N7 and N99 intersect into one road (sort of like an upsidedown wishbone) and this point is where the priceline nice zone starts... so given that it is north of this point it is properly zoned (imo).

The Mercure site includes the VAT. It does say that it doesn't include "local tax" which means that if Nice were to charge a separate city tax (which I don't know if it does, but probably not) that wouldn't be included.

Every website marketed in Europe has to have vat included. What they don't have to tell you is that there might be a city tax on hotel rooms. In france such a tax exists and it's between 0,3-0,9
